# Attachments

# 📎 **Attachments**  
> **"Keep supporting files organized, but out of the way."**  
> *Easily manage related files without cluttering your folder view.*  

When editing a document in the **standard document editor**, you can **drag and drop** images, PDFs, or Word files directly into the editor.  

* These are created as **individual documents** in the same folder.  
* They are automatically marked as **attachments**, so they don’t clutter the standard folder content view.  
* Attachments are also visible in the **Linked Documents** area of the document viewer.

| 📌 Attachments can also be created when using Request Forms with the attachment option enabled.

## 1️⃣ Viewing Attached Documents  
To display **attachments** in a folder:  

1. Go to [Folder Management](https://docs.brainframe.com/en/article/folder-management-1d8wdkm/) **→ Folder content columns configuration**.  
2. Enable the checkbox **“Show attachments.”**

## 2️⃣ Best Practices  
* 📂 **Keep attachments enabled **when you want to avoid clutter.  
* 🔄 **Link attachments to main documents** for better traceability.  
* 📝 **Use descriptive filenames** so attachments are easy to identify.  
* 👀 **Review the Linked Documents section** to ensure attachments are properly connected.
