# Calendar Integration

# 📅 Calendar Integration

Brainframe allows you to synchronize your **personal calendar** with tasks assigned to you.

## 1️⃣ How It Works  

1. In [tasks overview](https://docs.brainframe.com/en/article/task-management-1kz2hrb/), click the **calendar icon** in the top-right corner.

2. Click **Generate calendar link** to create your **personal ICAL link**.

3. Copy this link into your preferred calendar app using its **From URL** or **Subscribe** feature.  

4. Your calendar will display:  
* 📄 **Document title**  
* 🔗 **Direct link** to the task in Brainframe  

|| Note: The ICAL link is **personal** — it only shows tasks assigned to you.

## 2️⃣ Adding the Link to Your Calendar  

Choose the correct setup guide based on your calendar software:

## ⚠ Important Notes  

|| ⏳ Update frequency → Most calendar apps refresh ICAL feeds only once every 24h. Updates in Brainframe will appear after the next refresh.  

|| 🔒 Security → Never share your ICAL link. Anyone with the link can see your tasks (though Brainframe links still require login).  

|| 🏠 Self-hosted instances → Ensure the generated URL is publicly reachable for ICAL sync to work.

## 3️⃣ Best Practices  

* 📅 Keep your ICAL link stored securely in your calendar app only.  
* 🔒 Always send passwords for protected tasks through a separate channel.  
* ⚡ Refresh or resubscribe if you don’t see updates after 24h.  
* 🌍 Test ICAL sync after setup if you run Brainframe on a private/self-hosted server.
