# Inventory Overview

# 📊 **Inventory Overview**
> **"All your documents, organized and counted in one place."**
> *Policies, assets, every record in Brainframe GRC is a document type — and the Inventory Overview helps you group, filter, and export them quickly.*

The **Inventory Overview** lets you **group and visualize** documents across your workspace. This is where you quickly understand how many of each document type you have, and where they are located.

| 📌 Use the INBOX view to see your entire workspace inventory at once.

## 1️⃣ Inventory Overview Page

Features on this page:
* Access the **Resources menu**.
* Apply a **quick filter** to find specific document types.
* See the **count of document types** in the current folder + subfolders.
* View the **total count** of all documents in scope.
* **Export the list** to Excel for reporting.
* Click on a document type to open its **detailed inventory list**.

## 2️⃣ Document Type Inventory

When you click on a document type, Brainframe GRC shows a **filtered list** of all documents of that type.

From here you can:
* **Search** by ID or document name.
* Filter by **document properties** (e.g., Owner, DPO).
* Apply **detailed filters** for approval or custom fields.
* Review the **dependency graph** in the last column (links shown in *Dependencies*).
* **Export list** to Excel.

| 📌 If an exported Excel file shows a format error, simply allow Microsoft Office to auto-fix it — this happens due to special characters in headers.

---

## 3️⃣ Best Practices

* 📂 **Organize folders properly** before using the overview for clean results.
* 🔍 **Use property filters** (e.g., Owner, Risk type) to quickly isolate documents.
* 📑 **Export to Excel** when preparing compliance reports for auditors.
* 🧭 **Start from INBOX** to get a full picture of your workspace inventory.
