# Send to External Contacts

# 📤 **Send to External Contacts**  
> **"Share securely, without giving full access."**  
> *Send policies, procedures, or documents to external parties for feedback, awareness, or audit proof.*  

Sometimes you need to inform or request feedback from someone about a specific policy, procedure, or document inside Brainframe — without giving them direct system access.

## 1️⃣ Send to external contacts  
From any document, open the **View more** menu in the top-right corner and select **Send to external contacts**.

### ① Select Individual Contacts 
 
Pick one or more external contacts from the list. 
 
📌 *These contacts must already be defined in your company’s **External Contacts** settings.*  

### ② Select Tags  
Choose to notify all external contacts that share a specific tag (e.g., *Management*, *Employee*).  

### ③ Exclude Tags  
Remove certain tagged groups from receiving the notification.  

### ④ Add a Custom Invite Text  
Write a personalized message that will appear in the recipient’s email.  

### ⑤ Add Password Protection  
Secure the shared link with a password.  

| 📌 Always communicate the password through a separate channel (SMS, chat, phone call) — never in the same email.

## 2️⃣ Best Practices  

* 🔐 **Always enable password protection** for sensitive documents.  
* 🏷️ **Use tags for bulk sends** instead of selecting contacts one by one.  
* 📩 **Keep invite text professional and concise**, explaining the purpose clearly.  
* 🚨 **Send passwords separately** to reduce risk of interception.
